Born to a pair of successful artisans in the heart of Doma, Tsubame would have enjoyed a tranquil and carefree childhood. That is, if the Garlean Empire had not invaded and annexed her homeland shortly after her birth. Desiring a home far from the war, Tsubame's parents sought passage on one of the many ships delivering refugees to safer harbors.<wip>
